UniFiber® Product Information
UniFiber® . . . The Naturally Unique Fiber Supplement
Tasteless - Non-gelling - Grit Free
UniFiber® is a unique natural fiber supplement made from highly refined plant cellulose (like the fiber of grains, fruits and vegetables). UniFiber® has some important differences when compared to other fiber supplements:
- Less side effects - UniFiber® is totally insoluble and therefore will not cause gas and bloating.
- Restricted diets - Unlike other fiber supplements, UniFiber® is sodium, potassium, phosphorus and gluten free. It is an excellent option for those on a restricted diet (such as renal patients).
- Non-gelling, requires no extra fluids to prevent choking – There is no minimum liquid requirement for UniFiber®. UniFiber® may even be given via NG tube.
- Versatile and easy to take – UniFiber® is a tasteless, ultra-fine powder and can be mixed with most liquids (fruit juices, water, milk, etc.) or soft foods (cereals, applesauce, mashed potatoes, pudding, etc.) without changing the flavor. You can also cook with UniFiber®. Click here for recipes.
- Does not interfere or interact with any other medications – Metamucil®, FiberCon® and other psyllium products must be taken two hours before or after medications and vitamins. UniFiber® can be taken with other medications and vitamins.
- More concentrated fiber – Each serving of UniFiber® contains 3g of natural fiber, which is 50% more fiber than Citrucel®, 300% more than FiberCon® and equal to Metamucil® without the warnings and precautions.
- Clinically proven – UniFiber® was effective in maintaining bowel regularity while reducing dependence on stimulants, stool softeners and laxatives. (see figure 2)

- Patee; et al. Clinical Aspects of a Fiber Supplementation Program in a Nursing Home Population. Curther Res, 1988.

- No artificial sweeteners – UniFiber® contains no aspartame or phenylalanine with less than 1 net carb per serving.
- No special precautions – UniFiber® has no known allergic reactions, special precautions or warnings (e.g., esophageal swelling, choking).
- Increases compliance – You will appreciate UniFiber®'s No grit, No gas, No gelling' benefit and its flexibility. You won't become flavor-fatigued' or dependent on it.
- Economical – The usual Tbsp. serving of UniFiber® (3g fiber) costs about $.18. That is 40% less than the cost of most fiber supplements, and half the cost of stool softeners and chemical stimulants.
